Last updated: 2026-06-03. Effective on signup or first use of the StaticOwl service.
1. In plain English
You write content. We host, version, and render it. You own the content. We don't read it, train on it, or sell it. You can leave with a complete copy at any time.
2. Who's agreeing
"StaticOwl," "we," and "us" refers to StaticOwl (operated by Weber AI LLC, a Texas limited-liability company). "You" and "customer" refer to the individual or entity that creates an account or uses the service. By signing up, paying, or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
3. What we provide
StaticOwl is a headless CMS that compiles content into static sites, with an audit-grade bitemporal graph backbone. The current plan tiers + included features are listed on staticowl.com/pricing; we may change them at any time on at least 30 days' notice for existing customers.
4. Your content + your data
You own all content + data you put into StaticOwl. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, replicate, render, and serve it on your behalf — solely for operating the service. We do not read your content, do not train ML models on it, and do not sell or share it with third parties except as listed in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your data at any time via POST /api/access/me/export (returns a complete JSON bundle) or by clicking Export my data in the admin's Billing tab.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and renewal
Paid plans renew automatically each month at the price listed on the pricing page when you signed up. Pricing changes apply only at the start of your next renewal cycle and only after we've notified you by email at least 30 days in advance.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card number — only a Stripe customer reference. You manage payment methods, switch plans, and cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from Billing → Manage subscription.
Cancellation: you can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep paid access until then.
Refunds: we don't issue partial-month refunds. If you cancel mid-month, you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. If you experience a service outage that materially affects your use, email support@staticowl.com and we'll work it out case-by-case.
Free trial: the 30-day developer trial requires no payment method. At day 30, your trial sandbox + key expire and the data is dropped. You can sign up for a paid plan at any point to keep your sandbox content.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use StaticOwl to host or distribute content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, distributes malware, is designed to defraud or deceive, or violates the rights of others. Don't attempt to abuse rate limits, share API keys outside your organization, or probe the service for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure context.
If we believe you're violating this, we'll email you with 72 hours to remediate when feasible; we reserve the right to suspend or remove content immediately when there's an imminent risk to the service or other customers.
7. Service availability
Pre-GA (early-access) period: best-effort availability. After we publish an SLA agreement (Pro: 99.9% / Business: 99.95% / Enterprise: per-contract), credits are calculated as a percentage of the affected month's fee, requested via support, and capped at the affected month's fee. We post incidents in real time at staticowl.com/status.
8. Termination
You may terminate by cancelling your subscription and (optionally) deleting your account via Billing → Delete account. We may terminate or suspend the service to you for material breach of these Terms, non-payment after 14 days' notice, or to comply with law.
After termination: we retain your data for 30 days so you can re-subscribe and recover it, then delete it (a hashed tombstone is retained for audit-chain integrity but contains no recoverable content).
9. Disclaimer + limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to the account email on file at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
